Little Heath, Brookmans Park and Potters Bar Chess Club is a junior-orientated club with a strong adult section. The club meets twice a week, on Wednesday at Little Heath or Billy Lows Lane for matches and on Thursday at King Charles The Martyr, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar.

We now run two teams in the Herts League. The First team has been hugely successful. We entered the league in September 2000, one year after our formation, and have won five successive Divisional championships, the most recent being Division 3. The team currently plays in Division 2.

The Second team plays in Division 6 and primarily exists to ensure that our juniors play adult chess.

The club also plays in the Middlesex League Formula Division (Under 140). We played one full season in the league we finished second in Division 3 but found that the demands were too great and withdrew from Division 2. This league is ideal as matches are played over four boards.

Our Under 100 team (grading not age!) won the Herts knockout trophy in 2003 - 2004. This team consisted of one adult and three juniors.

We run a popular Chess Week in February Half Term offering tuition to juniors and adults culminating in a UK Chess Challenge event on the Friday. Additionally the club runs other events including the popular Christmas Fun Tournament immediately before the festive season.

As part of our outreach to the wider community, we have purchased sets and books and distributed them to schools and hospitals. These were gratefully received.
