PB Lympix - 7th May 2007 We enjoyed success for the second year running including some unexpected medals. Naturally we expected to take gold in the chess which Mark, Michael and Kaz duly delivered. However there was further gold for Mark and Eili in the 1500m and an even more unlikely gold from the football penalties. I suspect a few egos were dented at being beaten by the chess club! Only one silver this year for Tony Corfe and friend in the cribbage. Despite storming performances by Mark in the 400m and James Le Couilliard in the 400m and cycling respectively and strong supporting performances from Christine and Jordan Rutnam and Luc and Christine we took bronze. A team put together literally in seconds gained bronze in the darts - thanks Ron and Joy. Our other events were swimming with an mixture of elderly plodders (Ruth and myself) and young speed merchants (Luc and Jonathan), pool, table tennis and crossbar challenge. Great fun and fantastic to hold our own against other teams from other clubs and companies. |
